  • Let’s Celebrate

    Hello Honeybees,

It’s a celebration at the honeycomb.

On July 16, 2015 I pushed the send button on my very first blog post. It was scary, very scary but also very liberating.

The blog has gone thru several changes, including name changes. I started with Blogging With Bee, then The Honeybee 901 and what I think will be my final name change The Honeybee’s Lifestyle. The name changes reflect my growth from blogger to brand. Yes, I’m building a brand. A brand that will encompass more than blogging but a true lifestyle. A lifestyle of ageless living.

It’s no coincidence that I chose July 16th. I picked that day because it’s also my birthday. Today I not only celebrate The Honeybee’s Lifestyle brand but I am celebrating me. I am celebrating my own ageless living mantra. Most bloggers & influencers were younger than me when they started building their brands but it’s not about the number of candles on the cake it’s about what’s in your heart & living life to the fullest. My heart is wide open and I am open to what God has placed in it. I am starting to walk in my purpose, one step at a time.

I invite you to help me celebrate The Honeybee’s Lifestyle brand and also The Honeybee herself.

    Cheers!!!!

  • Who Told You No?

    Hello Honeybees,

Who told you that you couldn’t do something? Who told you that it would be to hard? That you are to old or to young? Who told you that you couldn’t do it because you didn’t have the right education? Who said you didn’t know the right people?

My question to you is this… did you listen? If you did listen…WHY?
Was it because of the position this person holds in your life? Was it a teacher? Friend? Your boss? Parent? Spouse?

We let people get inside our heads and hearts & talk us out of our vision. We can feel the pull of our vision. We know deep in our soul where our passion lies but we let others talk us out of pursuing it.

We, that includes ME, have to get past the NO’s and move towards our YES. I can respect the opinion of those close to me but in the end it’s up to me to take action on MY vision. I might receive a whole lot of no’s but it only takes one yes. My yes!

Yes, you can start that business. Yes you can change careers. Yes you can start that blog. Yes you can learn a new hobby. Yes you can write that book. Yes you can move to another state. Yes you can follow your vision.

  • You Are Your Best Investment

    Hello Honeybees,

A few weeks ago I attended a photography workshop given by Kim Thomas of KPFusion.  She has another one this weekend if it’s not sold out. This was my second time attending this class but this time Kim changed it up. This time we were able to do mini photo shoots with each other with Kim teaching us HOW to use our cameras. Just the basic stuff. For me it was just enough to be dangerous 😂 This time I actually read the camera manual before class and was able to follow along.

My camera equipment is basic but it was not inexpensive. It is an investment in my brand. Attending workshops is an investment. Reading articles, listening to podcast, attending events with other bloggers, those are all investments. Having a mentor & being a part of a blogger group where we share & learn from each other is an investment. The investment can be both time and money. Whether or not you make the investment can determine how far you will go and at what speed.

We are our biggest investment. In order for us to grow we have to have something or someone to pour into us. To help guide us. To help encourage us. To push us. To help us reach the next level. But also remember that you have to do the same for others. Don’t keep all of that knowledge to yourself.

Think about it.  As a parent we don’t mind investing in our children. If they show ANY kind of interest in any extracurricular activity we find the money & make the time to get them what they need to be successful. Even if they change their minds & want to do something else.

Why don’t we do the same for ourselves? You don’t like where you are in your career? Find out what you need to do to either advance or make a move, then do it. You need a new resume, make the investment to have someone revamp it. You want to write a book? Make the investment to talk to someone about how they did it. You want to start a blog, talk to a blogger, Google it and make it happen. Remember, time is money & picking someones brain ain’t always free.

These pictures were taken at that blogger workshop by Desiree of Mocha Divas. We made the investment and our brands will be better for it.
